How To Avoid Die-Hard Freebie Seekers
By Admin | December 21, 2008
Offering a free product to generate sales leads is a time-honored technique in sales. As the Internet has evolved, however, the consumers have become much more sophisticated about giving out their actual email addresses. Instead, they may choose to sign up for your free product and then offer up a time-limited or bogus email address in return. They may also unsuscribe from your sales funnel as soon as the free product is delivered. These tactics are endemic in the die-hard freebie crowd and play havoc with your sales strategy to collect people who are interested in your paying products from your customer list.
The way to avoid some die-hard freebie seekers is not to promote the free product as much as the newsletter or subscription. Get people excited about the actual sales funnel intermittent contacts, from the newsletters and sales offers, that they will want to sign up for that reason, and not so much for the free bonus you offer alongside.
